Tretford tends to be synonymous with high quality. As one of the most well-regarded flooring brands across Europe, the goat hair and ribbed construction that Tretford employs lend the products a sense of style that many other brands fail to muster. And now, customisable Tretford rugs are on their way to New Zealand in full force.

Umesh Dayal, from Heritage Carpets, discusses the new design-your-own Tretford process, and how efficient it can be for designers looking for the extra touch of quality.

Unique and bespoke

"There are other rugs, and there are other custom design programs, but none of them are Tretford," Umesh says.
"Experienced designers and high end clientele really appreciate the uniqueness of the Tretford brand – you know you're getting a top tier bespoke item."

With the ability to choose from Tretford's 48 colours, design your own dimensions and overall shape, as well as patterns and backing options, the new custom designed Tretford Custom Rugs process gives consumers and designers the ultimate power to develop and lay out a bespoke flooring design.

Your chosen design can be as complex or as simple as you like. Heritage Carpets is also streamlining the process, so no matter what you're after, it can be procured within a reasonable timeframe.

From start to finish

While the process between designer and client can involve a fair amount of back and forth, Umesh says that once a rug plan reaches Heritage Carpets, the process is simple.

"There can be intricate designs which take longer to process, but generally once we receive a detailed sketch it will take just a couple of days to come back to a client with a quote and logistics estimate."

"Once the deposit is paid, production then takes about three weeks, and delivery can take around a fortnight. So our process, from start to finish, takes up to seven weeks currently."

This level of efficiency combined with the bespoke detail you get with the Tretford name means that New Zealand is about to embrace an exciting new time when it comes to floor decoration and design.

Catching up with the rest of the world

Umesh noted that despite Tretford's popularity elsewhere in the world, this custom process is yet to really take off in New Zealand until now.

It could be a candy stripe carpet for the office, or a bespoke luxury item for residential use. The applications for Tretford are endless, and now you can put your own personal flavour on a top-of-the-line brand. Designers after that special something when making plans for a new space need look no further than Heritage Carpets for everything they need for top grade products.
