A Shift in Tone with RJ Living’s May Release

This month’s release introduces a refined evolution of familiar forms, bringing together richer tones, plush upholstery and sculptural finishes that feel both confident and considered. Across the collection, RJ Living expands its design language through colour, texture and materiality, creating pieces that feel warm, grounded and quietly expressive.

For us, the goal was to create a collection that feels elevated without feeling overly formal. Contemporary and design-led, but still relaxed, tactile and made for everyday living.

The beloved Sidney range sees an expansion of its colour offering, introducing deeper, moodier upholstery tones including Fossil Chocolate and Fossil Eucalyptus. The new palette brings added depth to the relaxed silhouette of the collection, allowing the Sidney range to feel even more adaptable across different interiors while maintaining the softness and comfort it’s known for.

Upholstery continues to play a central role throughout the May Release, particularly within the dining category.

New upholstered dining chairs and bar stools such as the Seren, Tote and Henri designs, introduce softer forms and tactile finishes into dining spaces. Plush fabrics paired with warm timber detailing create a balance of comfort and structure, offering a more elevated and inviting approach to everyday dining.

The collection also embraces high gloss finishes through pieces like the Sora Bedside Table, Lori Desk and Puddle Coffee Table. Lacquered surfaces in tones like Fudge, Glacier and Almond introduce a polished, contemporary edge while still feeling playful and organic in shape. These reflective finishes add another layer of depth to the collection, bringing contrast against the softness of upholstery and natural materials.

The Ridge range also continues to expand within the May Release, introducing new pieces that build on the collection’s strong architectural identity.

Designs including the Ridge Bedside Table, Entertainment Unit and Sideboard carry through the range’s signature textural detailing and rich Earthen Oak finish, bringing warmth and structure into living and bedroom spaces alike. The expansion reinforces the versatility of the Ridge collection, offering cohesive storage and statement pieces that feel grounded, refined and designed for everyday living.
