On an elevated ridge behind Currumbin, Ridge Residence boasts expansive coastal views. The design challenge, however, lay in creating a sanctuary that embraced its surroundings while bracing the home from the road and the threat of bushfires.

Robust materials were chosen for the exterior, including shot-blasted face blockwork, extensive glazing, and metal roofing, to fortify the structure against potential bushfire threats.
The form of the home avoids sharp lines, with the bronze coloured aluminium battens creating a soft, perforated.
The Spanish glass mosaic tiles glitter like a jewel, drawing in the colours of the sky and sea.
The aluminium batten facade is cut away on one side to reveal the view.
The green tones of the central island's Amazonite benchtop draw in the hues in nature.
The dark cabinetry in the kitchen, contrasts against the timber veneer kitchen island and copper pendant lights.
The stone walls and blockwork weave in from outside, creating a seamless transition between interior and exterior.
The glass lift takes in the view of the pool as it ascends.
The double-height stairwell transitions directly into the main living space, which features a fireplace clad in copper.
The art studio (on the left) takes in the sculptural view of the home as inspiration.
The triangular shape of the house makes the most of the available house site.
