The 2025 ADNZ Design Awards celebrated a remarkable breadth of New Zealand architecture and this year, a standout theme emerged: every winner featured below is an ArchiPro client. From coastal homes crafted with lightness to ambitious alpine commercial work, these projects reflect the calibre of design flourishing across our community.

An alpine landmark with national impact

In the Craigieburn Valley, Hierarchy Group’s Sugarloaf at Flockhill earned dual national titles in commercial architecture and commercial interiors. Set against a dramatic high-country backdrop, the building balances hospitality, craft and landscape in equal measure. A confident piece of architecture that feels entirely of its place.

Coastal refinement in Mt Maunganui

Adam Taylor of ata delivered one of the night’s standout achievements with Rhythm & Greens awarded both for its sensitive residential reconfiguration and its beautifully resolved interiors. The project is a clear example of how thoughtful planning can reshape the way a home breathes and lives.

Residential clarity in the South

Figure & Ground enjoyed a remarkable year with two national wins.

Macandrew Lane in Wānaka distils alpine living into a warm, composed family home, while Gracefield Avenue in central Christchurch redefines what sensitive urban densification can look like. An elegant response to contemporary multi-unit living.

Large-scale living with material confidence

In North Canterbury, Archco's Burntwood earned top honours for homes over 300m². With its robust material palette and generous planning, the project shows how scale can be delivered with both boldness and restraint.
