When talking about smart technology, most people immediately think of their phones, Siri and Alexa, Google Home and other devices that make our lives easier. However, there’s one category where technology has advanced in leaps and bounds – security.
Founded in 1840, Yale is one of the oldest lock manufacturers in the world and is owned by parent company Assa Abloy. Despite the brand’s long history, it hasn’t rested upon its laurels. Instead, Yale has led the charge of security innovation and now produces smart technology that’s easy to use and install. But home security isn’t only about keeping the bad guys out, it’s about granting access to friends, family and service providers while giving you peace of mind – no matter where you are.
The Yale Connect Bridge facilitates access to your lock from anywhere in the world so you can lock and unlock, grant access to people, change PIN codes or settings remotely via the Yale Access app. It also has voice assistant technology that can join with Google, Samsung or Alexa smart home devices and, if you integrate the Bridge into your home automation system, it can even turn on your lights.
Controllable via the Yale Access app, a key card or Yale Smart Keypad, the Unity Entrance Lock meets all Australian standards and controls both internal and external handles of your lock. By using the app, you can allow visitors or providers one time access, access for a set period or a date range. If wi-fi, Bluetooth and GPS are accessible to your Yale Access app, the Unity Entrance Lock will even automatically open as you approach your door.
Never worry about losing your keys again, because the Assure Lock utilises PIN codes instead. It also features a backlit touchscreen pad, key override for emergencies and an automatic relock function that, once the latch is retracted, self-locks after a period of time as specified by you – which means doors are no longer left accidentally unsecured.
Your precious documents and photographs will be safe from intense heat and humidity in the Yale Document Fire Safe, while the Data Fire Safe contains an additional ‘safe within a safe’ insulation layer that protects extra sensitive digital data stored on hard-drive, CD ROM, DVD or tape. Both are equipped with a unique digital security keypad and a scramble number input that enables personal codes to be hidden within longer sequences of numbers. You can also create single-use access codes.
