1. CURVES. From curved archways to rounded furniture, you will see the return of the popular 60s curve. As well as adding a sense of playfulness, curves add softness and help a space to feel more relaxed and inviting. From round mirrors to curved island benches, curves are here to stay.

2. WALLPAPER. Mural wallpaper has started to creep up in home decor, but expect it to get even more popular. Bold wallpaper not only creates endless visual interest, but it can also replace expensive artwork and act as a focal point in a room, especially when used as an accent wall. Think tropical, bold prints.

3. PLANTS PLANTS PLANTS! From fiddle-leaf Figs to the bird-of-paradise, indoor plants remain hot. Whether it be pot plants or living walls, these pops of nature bring the outdoors in and add a sense of drama to your interior.

4. MUTED COLOURS. Whether its soft pink hues or pastel green shades, many paint designers are picking neutral-inspired tones. Pastel or muted paint colours can also be a great way to replace the standard white as a base colour without going over the top.

5. CONCRETE. From concrete sinks to kitchen benchtops, concrete is more and more becoming a popular material to use in the home. It’s great for creating a modern but rustic vibe, and a lovely diversion from a standard wood or marble vanity. Paired with timber it ensures a natural yet textural aesthetic.

6. STATEMENT TILES. The ever-popular white subway tile is moving over and making way for bold, patterned, colourful tiles. From small splashbacks to large scale flooring, tiles are being used to add colour and pattern.

7. BRASS. From bathroom tapware to light fixtures, brass is a lovely way to give a space a vintage feel and add character. Keep it modern by using a contemporary mix of materials and using Brass as the icing on the cake.

8. BUILT-IN CABINETRY. Be it a built-in window seat or practical drop-zone area, cabinetry that’s built-in adds character to a room and can be an excellent space-saving technique. Optimizing space and creating storage solutions, built-in cabinetry adds to the functionality and style of any room.

9. WOOD PANELLING. Finished in a sleek modern way, timber walls can add that natural texture and create a rustic backdrop. And, no room is off-limits—especially bathrooms and kitchens, where wood panelling brings a warmth that’s unexpected and often lacking.

10. FIBRE ART. For several years now, fibre artists have been showing their work at fine-art galleries and fairs. This style of art is definitely set to continue and break into more mainstream—intricately woven tapestries, elaborately knotted macramé pieces—make its way into the home.
