If you have a smaller property, then the chances are higher that your bathroom will have less space. Of course, smaller bathrooms can still look very stylish and provide you with everything that you need but you have to consider your design ethos that much more carefully. This is where the installation of a walk-in shower can make all the difference - but it doesn't stop there. Walk-in showers are often the preferred option in ensuites where space is also usually at a premium. Read on to discover why this sort of shower is more suited to smaller bathrooms than elsewhere.

Walk-In Shower Enclosures

When you have limited room, installing a corner-fitting shower enclosure with a shower screen means that less than a square metre of space is used up. These days, modern floor-to-ceiling frameless shower screens create an uninterrupted view through the bathroom and are virtually invisible. They also create much less visual clutter than shower fittings. You can do away with a bath completely as walk-in showers of this type free up more room and provide step-free access to your washing facilities.

Wetrooms

The other way of making an ensuite or small bathroom seem bigger than it really is would be to opt for a wetroom instead of an enclosure. This means removing everything that is not essential from the room and creating a waterproof floor for the bathroom which fits seamlessly with the walk-in shower. This way, you can fashion a wide space for showering which has no need for a shower tray or any other restrictions on movement. You can remove your heating radiators and opt for undertile heating instead, thus making your bathroom cosy and more spacious than before.

The Value of Your Home

A wetroom or a stylish walk-in shower enclosure will make your bathroom appear larger and add value to your home. Potential buyers do not show much interest in homes which have smaller than average bathrooms and this is usually reflected in the asking prices of houses that come onto the market. Rather than extending your home to make your bathroom bigger, it is more cost-effective to install high-quality, modern showers.
