When we look at insulation values, it’s important to consider the total R value of the whole element (for example: wall/floor/roof) rather than just the insulation itself.
A typical framed wall is 11% timber, which reduces the total value. The air leakage of a timber frame hasn’t been considered either, when the frame is assembled, which can be quite significant. SIPS walls leak 20 times less air.
The R-value of our panels are:
- 110 mm panel R3.52
- 160 mm panel R5.13
- 210 mm panel R6.72
- 310 mm panel R9.93
