Check your ventilation

Words by Look Floors

Summer is here!!!

Where sunlight gets in contact with floor coverings on timber substrate’s, you may see bubbles have formed under your floor coverings. At Look Floors we believe this could be a building problem and not a flooring issue.

If you experience this, call your local Look Floors representative for guidance.

In summer, the heat gives moisture power which forms the pressure

The building does not comply with NZS 3604:2011 if:

  • Subfloors are less than 450mm above ground
  • Lacking ventilation and cross ventilation
  • Inadequate drainage

Over winter moisture builds up under the subfloor powerless until the warmth of summer comes in. Bubbles normally occur where sunlight hits the floor, or you may see movement on the underlayment where the joints will show through.

Call your local Look Floors representative today for assistance.
