Timeless furniture and lighting for the home

In a post-COVID world, the focus has shifted back to the comforts of home, with many of us looking for products that embrace that quality and, which also eschew the shallowness of a throw-away society, especially when it comes to the products we place in our homes.

When you walk into the showroom of CC Interiors, filled to overflowing with handcrafted, bespoke pieces of furniture and décor that amount to works of art, you realise the potential on offer to create a home for your clients that will radiate timeless comfort and style.

CC Interiors—led by Elizabeth Wilkinson and her husband, Mark—operates the largest trade showroom in the southern hemisphere and is a prominent wholesaler, designing and importing collections from more than 70 factories around the world, which it supplies exclusively to retailers and designers in New Zealand and Australia.

Elizabeth describes the quality of the products, many of which have been designed by herself and her team—and most handmade—as outstanding. Solid brass light fittings, gorgeous soft linens, individually handblown glassware and lighting speak to a design approach that is eclectic and timeless.

“CC Interiors’ collections range from contemporary to classic designs,” says Elizabeth, “but with an emphasis on an approach that embodies creating pieces that will be passed down through generations, able to fit in with any and all interior styles.

“COVID has brought changes in how we view our homes and our possessions,” she says. “Freight charges have exploded, so the emphasis is moving to quality pieces that will last and not be disposed of for next year’s fashion. We love this approach as it perfectly fits our desire to be as sustainable in our business as possible—this is so important to us that after a devastating fire at our building, we redesigned it so that we don’t need air conditioning or heating—and the products we source reflect this ethos.”

CC Interiors showcases classic and contemporary styles, which means items have the longevity to be passed down generations.

CC Interiors: standing the test of time

A major interior design trend coming out of COVID has led us back to the classic ‘Cozy Cottage’ school—textual layers upon visual layers, each being revealed as you enter the home and wander the rooms, building up a lovely sense of comfort and hygge.

Embracing an unpretentiousness that celebrates the joy of the comfort of a home, this ‘rustic vogue’ is right on trend and it’s everywhere you look in the CC Interiors showroom.

Likewise, when your products are featured in high-end destinations such as Kauri Cliffs, Huka Lodge and the new The Convent Hotel—Auckland’s hip new boutique hospitality venue in Grey Lynn—you know you’re producing works of quality that can transcend different interior design approaches.

The lighting, especially, reflects this style and demand for exacting quality.

'Rustic vogue' is the preferred look du jour, and the quality brass lamps, mirrors and timber pieces at CC Interiors play right into this aesthetic.

CC Interiors: design of a timeless nature

“Our focus is on producing unique designs that will endure, whether that’s an Industrial look, Cape Cod, or more neoclassical design—floor lamps, wall mount and chandeliers and hanging fittings—are all made to last across generations,” says Elizabeth.

Handblown globes (where only 30 per cent of those made are used in order to maintain a strict standard), are attached to substantial fittings and bases made of pure brass, which, Elizabeth adds, can also be plated with silver or bronze.

“The patina these heirlooms acquire as they age is exquisite. These are pieces of value and authenticity, and more so, are unique to CC Interiors.”

CC Interiors specialises in custom pieces, from furniture, to homeware and lights with a unique approach to design that transcends fashion.
