Provista Balustrade Systems’ Framed Glass balustrade has provided a stylish and safe solution to the new building at Te Hihi Primary School in Karaka, south Auckland.

The new building on Linwood Road is a modern, comprehensive classroom block added to the schools existing original 20th century structures to cater for significant role growth due to residential expansion in the area and to support a requirement for a more modern learning environment.

Prendos NZ, who designed and Project Managed the new block, chose Provista Balustrade Systems to provide a stylish balustrade solution to the second level of the facility which was in keeping with the design of the building.

The solution is Provista’s aluminium ‘Manor’ framed glass with a ‘Euro’ handrail profile. Provista’s side-fix post profile has been utilised offering completely hidden fixings for a stylish result. The glass utilised is Metro Performance Glass 8mm Toughened Safety Glass.

The same Manor balustrade solution is used for the stairs to the lower access and playground area supplemented by an additional stainless steel handrail mounted to the posts.

The Manor balustrade solution looks great on modern or classical structures and, in this case, has provided a practical and modern solution that compliments the design and look of the facility.

Steve Langford, Senior Quantity Surveyor at Accent Construction who built the new block, agreed the balustrade solution looks great. He concludes “The Provista team were more than satisfactory. The crew onsite were good to deal with and the workmanship excellent”.

Provista Balustrade Systems solutions are compliant with all NZ regulations and suited to A, B, E and C3 residential and commercial applications.
