Interior linings for walls, ceilings, bar and bench fronts, cabinetry and curved surfaces, in both residential and commercial projects.

Timber Selection: Each species brings its own character to a space, and the choice shapes the design as much as the profile does.

Radiata Pine is light and bright, with a pale tone that ranges from soft white to warm yellow. It suits light, airy interiors and is the ideal species for paint and stain: its low resin content and even density mean coatings go on evenly, with no special primers required. We can also colour-match your finish, for example to the flooring in your specification. Send us a sample and we’ll provide coated test pieces in a similar colour for your approval before production.

European Beech is a distinctive choice. Its natural pink and earthy terracotta tones bring a strong biophilic quality to a space, and boards vary widely, from pale straw through to deep pink and red-brown. Beech is best suited to a clear finish, though it can also be stained.

American Oak is our premium species and our most popular. Its brown base and dark fleck make the grain the defining feature, with lighter boards adding natural variation across a wall. Finished in a flat clear coat, it has a refined, high-end look.

Installation: Standard profiles are fixed with a concealed fastening system, construction adhesive, or both, leaving no visible fixings. Radius profiles don’t use the concealed fastening system. Profiles can be fixed to any clean, flat substrate, including timber, plasterboard (GIB) or masonry. Before installation, acclimatise the boards on site to the room’s temperature and humidity. Custom Options: Custom profiles and other species, including Walnut and Tasmanian Oak, are available on request.

Coating and finishes: Profiles can be supplied uncoated or coated before delivery. We can arrange coating through one of our specialist coating partners, or your joiner can use their own coater.
Two-pack clear coat: Protects the timber and keeps the natural grain visible. It’s a hard-wearing finish we recommend for most residential and commercial applications.
Stain or dye: Applied before the clear topcoat to change the colour while keeping the grain visible.
Paint: Acrylic, enamel or lacquer, for a solid colour that fully covers the grain.

Bathrooms and other areas with changing humidity need a moisture-resistant finish to limit moisture uptake and movement. A clear coat, stain or paint finish can all achieve this.

Impact resistance: In high-contact areas, such as boardroom walls where chairs bump the lining or bench seat fronts that take the odd kick, harder species like Beech and Oak are well suited. Both are around twice as hard as Radiata Pine, and their natural variation helps disguise minor dents and scratches.

Curves and radii: Radius profiles let the lining follow curved walls, columns and joinery. Max curve radius: 300mm for all radius profiles.

Care and maintenance: Clean with a damp micro-fibre cloth to remove surface marks or grease. Avoid abrasive products and cleaners, which can damage the sealed or painted surface. Minerals in hard water can leave visible marks, particularly on darker painted finishes.

Environment: FSC-certified New Zealand Radiata Pine is available on request.

Fire rating: Without any special coating, profiles achieve Group 3 under the NZ Building Code. With an intumescent coating system, they can achieve up to Group 1-S. See the Interior Linings Fire Rating document in Product Files.
