Capitol Complex Collection by Cassina

Website

The Capitol Complex Collection by Cassina, a homage to Pierre Jeanneret. The collection expands on the origins of the Chandigarh project by Le Corbusier and presents 4 products, a chair, an office chair with arms, an armchair and a table.

The Chandigarh project is considered Le Corbusier’s most mature work, and this extraordinary architectural, artistic and interior project has long been an important point of reference for the history of Modernity.

Le Corbusier’s cousin, Pierre Jeanneret, was a key figure in the creation of the Chandigarh project, combining essential forms with simple materials, to create a meeting point between modern European ideals and the traditional Indian spirit. The Capitol Complex is characterised by a distinctive inverted ‘V’ that comes in many variations in all 4 of the collection's pieces.

An optional cushion is available to protect the seat and make it more comfortable. In addition to the original teak essence, the re-issue by Cassina is also available in 2 further versions in natural and black-stained oak while the seat-back sequence remains a woven Viennese cane.
