Native to NZ. A large bushy shrub with purple red foliage, intensifying in colour in Winter. Clusters of ornamental papery flowers in Summer. Makes a great trimmed hedge or coastal shelter. Prefers full sun and useful in harsh conditions. Tolerates wind, salt spray and drought. Evergreen. Fast growth rate.

Recommended spacing = 80cm - 1m. Height after 5 years = 4m.
