Drive and Paving Seal

An enhancing sealer. The clear solution acrylic protects and highlights the colour and texture of the underlying concrete surface.

Masons Drive and Paving Seal is an enhancing sealer. The clear solution acrylic protects and highlights the colour and texture of the underlying concrete surface. It has been developed primarily as a driveway and paving finish with particular emphasis on the exposed aggregate and decorative concrete finishes. Designed for vehicle traffic and domestic driveways, outdoor entertainment areas and commercial applications such as building forecourts and car parks. Masons Drive and Paving Seal may also be used on cobblestone, blue-stone, concrete and imitation slate surfaces as well as other high traffic surfaces requiring protection.

Advantages
Hard Film: When fully cured the finish is designed to resist scratching and the abrasive effect of car tyres. UV Stability: Acrylic polymers have long term resistance to UV degradation although any organic pigment in the underlying colour will fade. Clean-Ability: Treated areas are easy to maintain as the micro-pore structure of the concrete/paving has been sealed, minimising dirt pickup and retention.

APPLICATION Note: New concrete should cure for 28 days prior to applying MASONS™ Drive and Paving Seal.

Ensure surface to be treated is clean and free of dirt or other loose material. Remove any grease, oil and old sealer film. Water blasting may be necessary. In cases of old hard to remove sealer, power grinding is recommended for the best finish. Make sure surface is dry before applying MASONS™ Drive and Paving Seal by brush, broom or spray.

IMPORTANT: Stir thoroughly before use.

In some cases only one coat is required, however, some porous concrete may require two or three coats to achieve adequate film build as protection. Clean up with mineral turps or a similar solvent. For the best visual result two coats are recommended with the first coat thinned 1:1 with GP thinners.

COVERAGE 7-10 m2 per litre, depending on porosity of the substrate.

EXPECTED LIFESPAN The expected lifespan of MASONS™ Drive and Paving Seal will depend on location, weathering and traffic, the sealer is subjected to. In exposed heavy traffic areas, recoating may be necessary after 12-18 months. In light use areas, such as domestic driveways, the coating will perform exceptionally well for several years.

Re-coating of an intact finish is simply a matter of cleaning the surface, removing any loose film.

Coverage 7-10 m2 per litre, depending on porosity of the substrate.
