A striking mid century chest of drawers from France in the Louis XVI style. This piece is made of mahogany that has been ebonised and finished with a wax polish. Two smaller dovetailed drawers sit above two large drawers both with working locks. Each drawer has a cast brass trim, bow pull handles and the two corner curved reeded panels add a touch of elegance. The chest is supported by four tapered, fluted legs with brass capped sabots. An original thick and intact Carrara marble slab sits on top. A chest of drawers that would sit equally well in a modern as well as a classic interior.
