Neo 2.0 Floor Covering

Website

The Classen group debuts its natural design floor covering “Neo by Classen” on the market for the first time worldwide. This hi-tech design floor covering, which was created using a new mix of materials and innovative production technologies, is based on wood-based biological materials without PVC and free of harmful chemicals, e.g. chlorine or phthalates.

“Neo by Classen” introduces a new generation of flooring: A natural design floor covering, which, for the first time, completely does without vinyl. Therefore, it is also free of harmful plasticizers — so-called phthalates — and chlorine. “Neo by Classen” is water-resistant, fully recyclable and reusable due to its bio material substrates, and 100% made in Germany — from development to production.

A Floor for Laying in All Residential and Business Premises

“Neo by Classen” showcases its unique product qualities in every room of your home: Water-resistant in the bath, shower and other wet areas, hygienic and contaminant-free in the nursery and sleeping quarters, highly-resilient and durable in hallways, kitchens or (home) offices. Thanks to its attractive digital décor and structure surface, this floor also looks particularly prestigious in the living room or visitor rooms.

“Neo by Classen” combines the advantages of laminate floorings with those of vinyl design floor coverings; it notably possesses its absolutely first-rate step and sound characteristics. Furthermore, the floor covering has a structural height of only 4.5 millimetres, can be cut to size with a conventional carpet cutter, and, thanks to its unusually low weight per square metre, it ranks among the lightweight among clickable floor coverings. In addition to these characteristics, which are ideal for renovation, “Neo by Classen” is highly resilient, temperature-resistant and it maintains its shape.

A True All-In-One Floor

A product development employee explains: “From a qualitative point of view, our new floor covering is unique with respect to design and characteristics, as well as in terms of technology, design and function. The floor covering is made of a wood-based biological material, in which natural fibres and food safe polypropylene are combined into a highly-stable substrate plate. We have not needed to use any additional additives such as plasticizer or chlorine for manufacturing. Nothing that outgasses into the home environment or that affects health in any way, shape or form.

A Completely New Development Made by Classen

A new design flooring with truly sensational properties has been created in ‘Neo by Classen’. All components necessary for manufacturing were newly developed by us in-house. Starting from water-resistant bio material substrates, composite solid fibre (CSF)— a material made of wood pieces encased in polymer — to highly-durable Sealtec surface sealing for effective protection of the superbly-authentic, digitally-printed décor in stone or wood designs.” “Neo by Classen” has been in the roll out phase since the beginning of June. The design flooring had already delighted the trade audience during the presentation at Domotex in Hannover in January of this year. Classen, one of the leading manufacturers of laminate floorings worldwide, will write another success story with this newly-developed flooring. Because this company from Kaisersesch managed to develop natural design floor covering, which combines all ecological and spacial-hygienic aspects into one by consolidating its core competencies. “We absolutely believe in the success of our new product. Furthermore, we offer the market a highly-attractive end customer sales price. Using our strengths, we will significantly increase overall output in both plants in Kaisersesch and Baruth once more. We firmly have our sights set on the 100 million square metre limit.

A True Novelty — The Uninterrupted Production

In Kaisersech, the Classen group installed — as it has already done in Baruth — an uninterrupted production line. From producing the newly-developed CSF substrate — Composite Solid Fibre — to the finished flooring element, “Neo by Classen” is produced in one run. Apart from a brief CSF board relief phase, there is no intermediate storage of semi-completed components: the flooring is completed in a continuous process. Our experiences from Baruth have greatly contributed to optimising procedures. Ready-produced goods can be exclusively found at our warehouse. Properly packed, Classen has the logistic ability to supply its trading partner at any time, even with small quantities of goods from a comprehensive range of décors. When it comes to developing and optimising new manufacturing processes, the Classen group successfully works hand-in-hand with the largest machine manufacturers in the industry. A few years ago, such collaboration was already carried out as part of development of the LLT production process, which is patented by Classen. Production technology now delivers another impressive proof of close cooperation between plant manufacturers and customers for manufacturing the new “Neo by Classen” design flooring. Numerous Patents The Classen group possesses comprehensive product and production expertise. This is proven by an extensive portfolio of national and international patents and utility models. As one of the few producers, Classen is furthermore the owner of a key patent in Fold-down floor laying technology. It is positioned in the market as a quick laying system under the “Classen megaloc” brand. There is no question that “Classen megaloc” is also used for laying neo-floor elements.

A new division in the production lines exists since the end of 2013: Laminate floorings at the integrated production site in Baruth, design flooring coverings in the Kaisersesch Rhineland-Palatinate plant. There, the “comfort & silent” vinyl-based design floors, a specially-quiet floor covering, and “Prestige”, the highly-resilient flooring, are produced. Moreover the “Neo by Classen” new development, the water-resistant but mainly PVC-free natural design floor covering. The Classen group currently produces around 80 million square metres of high-quality laminate flooring, made in Germany, in the most modern laminate factory worldwide located in Baruth, directly at Berlin’s front door, for national and international distribution partners. The Kaisersesch plant is the expertise and production site for Classen design floor coverings.
