The translation for the Portuguese word Pisco is "a blink of an eye". The name of this sculptural wall decoration in ceramics describes its appearance perfectly: blinking eyes that make you blush. The Pisco is sold per set of three and in three different finishes, so you can make a composition to your own taste.
After he graduated as a product developer from the Henry van de Velde Institute in Antwerp, Stefan Schöning set up his multidisciplinary studio in 1994. The Folder chair, cut and folded out of one single piece, gained worldwide acclaim in 2001 and has since become a classic. Shortly after, Schöning received assignments from a growing number of international manufacturers. The new corporate style he designed for the Belgian railways in 2005 was his first assignment given by the public sector, for which he received several international accolades. In 2008, Schöning was named ‘Designer of the Year’. In 2011 he designed the setting for the ‘Belgium is design’ exhibition in the prestigious ‘Pinacoteca di Brera’ during the Salone del Mobile in Milan. Lately, the studio also started to develop objects for public space interiors and natural parks.
