A highly durable plant based flooring oil for long lasting beautiful timber floors the Hard Floor Oil | Matt is an excellent alternative to water-based polyurethane, our Plant Based Hard Floor Timber Oil is VOC free and free of all harmful chemicals. It provides an extremely durable finish to timber floors, and gives a beautiful rich look to timber while retaining the natural timber colour.

The lack of smell and toxic chemicals means that people can stay living in their house while they oil their floors. Not only is the hard floor oil a healthy option, but it boasts a 7-10 year life before needing to be topped up.

The finish it gives is fully water-proof, so can be used in wet areas such as kitchens and bathrooms. Can also be used in houses with indoor pets, and high traffic areas such as halls and commercial spaces. Available in a Matt/Satin or High Gloss finish. Clean up with water.

Usage

As a highly durable finish for interior timber surfaces, including:

  • Floors, windows, doors, architraves
  • Furniture, Cabinetry
  • Toys (approved for use on toys according to European regulations)
  • Cork, Chipboard, MDF 

Coverage

  • 20-25m² per litre depending on the absorbency of the timber.
  • *15m² per litre approximately for the first coat on most timbers, chipboard and absorbent substrates. 

Whitewash or Stain

  • If you would like to whitewash or stain your floor, then use 1-2 coats of our Pure Interior Oil to achieve the desired look, before overcoating with our Hard Floor Oil. You can view this product and our colours we offer here. 

Ingredients

  • Water, Castor Oil, Silica, Plant Oil Emulsion, Thickener, Sodium Salt, Food Additive E1520, Eco-friendly proprietary driers, Biocides < 0.05% 
Scope of use
  • Clean implements immediately after use with water. If left, implements will need to be cleaned up with thinners
  • Clean only after fully hardened. Use warm soapy water to clean surfaces coated with Hard Floor Oil.
  • When recoating Hard Floor Oil, clean surface well and degrease if necessary, sand lightly
  • Keep out of reach of children
  • Use with adequate ventilation do not breathe fumes or vapour
  • Avoid skin contact
  • Keep work materials in Hard Floor oil, such as rags, sponges, sanding dust and contaminated clothing in an airtight container, or rinse in water and spread out to dry on a non-combustible surface
  • Seal well and store in a cool, dry place
  • Remove any skin that has formed in open containers and sieve if necessary before use
  • Do not dispose of in drains and wastepipes
  • Let waste dry out and recycle empty containers where possible. Dispose of according to council regulations.
