What We Do

Design Production is a specialist provider of 3D modelling, fabrication and installation services of large structural steel projects, architectural metalwork contracts and even bespoke pieces of art.

Our experienced draughting team brings an enormous amount of knowledge and experience to projects, using client’s detailed CAD drawings and the latest software from Advanced Steel, TEKLA Structures and Solidworks.

Our project management process revolves around our draughting team modelling a project in 3D, bringing together both the architectural intent and engineering requirements, which is then combined with accurate site measurement and collaboration with relevant stakeholders. The end-result is a fabrication that fits and matches the drawings 100%, delivered on time, tightly managed from site measure to completed installation.

The rigging and installation elements of our projects are based on safety first and foremost, only using our in-house team of skilled installers, meticulous planning and having the right heavy-duty equipment in our fleet to deliver the project safely and on time. Not outsourcing this vital component means we have more control of the project, and are assured of the standard of work, professionalism and adherence to health and safety protocols.

When it comes to challenges and specific requirements from clients, we are confident enough in our 25 years in the business and our team’s extensive experience in delivering complex projects to find ways to make the seemingly impossible possible, and to push the boundaries of what can be achieved.

Brothers Cameron and Ryan McAuley established Design Production in 1997 from a deep connection to the transformative process and creative capabilities of steel; creating something of function, longevity and beauty from a few lines on a drawing.

Employing the principles of craftsmanship, at-scale, have fostered a reputation of reliability, attention to detail, exceptional quality workmanship, friendly and accommodating service, and the cultivation of long-term relationships.

We have seen 25 years of growth and investment in our people, processes, plant and equipment, and are currently housed in a 3000m² factory using the latest structural steel robotics technology and 3D CAD software.

As a leader in structural and architectural steel fabrication, ongoing investment in technology, commitment to our clients, and compliance with industry standards have allowed us to become the fabricator of choice for many large contractors.
