Australian Sustainable Hardwoods (ASH)

Timber windows and doors made from ASH’s brand of American Oak – Glacial Oak – are arguably the best on the market.

Perfect for traditional style homes or architectural masterpieces, hardwood windows are naturally hard-wearing, strong, energy efficient and visually stunning.

Glacial Oak is straight line edged after drying, has minimal pink colouring, is internally scanned for defects and is available either as solid timber or finger-jointed material.

Companies incorporating our hardwood timber in their proprietary window constructions have been able to achieve BAL-29 and BAL-40 (Bushfire Attack Level) rating, although the timber properties naturally achieve BAL-19 without additional tests. Refer AS3959 for how and where.

Glacial Oak Uncoated

Glacial Oak is ASH’s brand of American Oak, handpicked by region and colour, graded and packed to meet Australian manufacturer’s requirements. Processed in Victoria, Glacial Oak is a stunning and sustainable hardwood and is a superior alternative to the now unavailable Victorian Ash.

Crown cut and beautifully blonde in appearance, Glacial Oak is recommended for many applications including staircase components, lining, furniture and joinery, benchtops and panels, windows and doors, solid flooring and DAR and sawn. We’ll provide a raw, uncoated sample giving you a true appreciation for the natural timber.
