Heathcote Appliances was founded in 1946 by Richard ‘Dick’ Heathcote. Initially, it began in Morrinsville, but since has expanded to include large-format stores in Hamilton City and The Base (NZ's Largest Shopping Centre) in Te Rapa - as well as two rural stores in Morrinsville and Te Awamutu.
Dick’s business motto was “We Sell the Best and Service the Rest”; an approach which even today gives us a strong point of difference. To this day the business is still 100% owned and operated by the Heathcote family, the business has expanded to include a fully certified appliance service department and a specialised air conditioning/heat pump installation and service team.
