Plytech Green

Birch Elite panels are now manufactured using bio-based lignin glue replacing traditional fossil phenol to create a more environmentally friendly panel.

Lignin is a recyclable and ecologically friendly product, found in the cell walls of almost all dry-land plants and is a by-product of the paper kraft-pulping process. It is a wood component that gives plants shape and stability as a kind of connector, solidifying the cell walls.

Using bio-based lignin in the manufacturing process significantly reduces the carbon footprint of the Birch Elite panels from production to final end-use applications — without compromising quality or technical performance of the panel.

Birch Elite uncoated panels have been certified as Declare Red List Free, indicating that they are free of Red List chemicals and that their ingredients have been fully disclosed.
