    Bau Division is an emerging architecture practice working primarily in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions. We aim to create lasting and meaningful designs that are backed up by technical rigour and strategic thinking.

    Bau Division was founded in 2018 and is directed by John Baker, a registered architect, certified Passive House Designer and member of the New Zealand Institute of Architects.

    John graduated from Victoria University of Wellington in 2006 with first class honours, and has since worked in four notable and award winning offices in Dunedin (Architectural Ecology), Auckland (Architectus), Zurich, Switzerland (EM2N Architekten) and Hamilton (MOAA Architects).

    John has a wide range of experience in residential, commercial and education projects, including projects with a sustainable focus. Award winning projects John has worked on at previous firms include:
