Heritage Timbercraft is a 100% NZ owned and operated barn, timber and joinery company. Our craftsmen use traditional skils to make new timber-frame barns, restore original barns and to make a range of doors, gates and bespoke joinery. Our sawmill provides wholesale local timber for our kit-set barns as well as other timber products including trusses, beams, cladding and panelling. We are also offering a new range of smaller timber-frame barns from 30m2 to 260 m2 including small barns and garages

We have a strong relationship with Heritage Barns in the USA who source our historic 18th and 19th  century barns, beams and heritage material for us. We restore these beautiful buildings on site and raise them around the country. Our local and international qualified design team specialises in barn homes having been involved in the design of over 100 new builds. We enjoy working with our clients to create their dream home using our skills to streamline the process and talk through design decisions.

We have recently re-aquired Timberworks, New Zealands number 1 timber frame company which we started over 18 years ago. We can now offer a full range of custom timber frames, trusses and barns.

We are based on Mohaka River Farm in Hawkes Bay. This 270-acre property is the hub of our community and a number of craft-based businesses including Heritage Timbercraft. We were previously based in Kimbolton in the Manawatu and prior to that in Ruby Bay Nelson. We serve customers throughout New Zealand. We love the beauty and warmth that characterises old timbers as well as the history that comes with them. We also love craft and it is a privilege for us to be working with our hands crafting spaces and furniture and teaching craft to others.  Our background is in traditional post and beam joinery, Ralph having co-founded the first traditional post and beam company in New Zealand over 15 years ago.
