Rob Liddle grew up on a farm in Central Hawke’s Bay. He has always loved building.

At age six, Rob decided to build a tree hut. To ensure it would stay in place he hammered 1,000 nails into his father’s favourite walnut tree.

Despite his annoyance, Rob’s Dad was forced to concede that his son’s workmanship was of an exceptionally high standard. Rob’s fate was sealed - and the rest is history.

After leaving school, Rob finished his building apprenticeship in Wellington and then looked for experience and adventure overseas. In London, he led a team renovating historic buildings, including Winston Churchill’s private residence.

He then worked in Sydney for five years as a foreman for a successful construction business whose clients included the Museum of Sydney, and several prestigious restaurants and cafes. Residential work included alterations to luxury homes on the northern beaches.

Rob returned to Hawke’s Bay in 2001 to set up his own construction business. His wife Amanda, their three children, one dog and one cat, now all live in a new family home built to fit everyone.

Yes, he still loves building!
