Biskit | Parnell

Website

Exposed brick and hardwood floors, long forgotten behind layers of wall coverings, vinyl and carpet were the unexpected discoveries that became design centerpieces of Biskit Café on Parnell Rise. The feature wall and whitewashed floor anchor the light-filled café to the character suburb, proving that incorporating found objects – or in this case, found design elements – can be the secret to developing a beautiful space on a budget. Bespoke details finish the space and scatter charm. Oversized light fittings, handcrafted by Material Creative in collaboration with Powersurge add dimension and texture to the high ceilings and custom servingware commissioned by Steiner Ceramics in Biskit green nods to the lesser-known definition of ‘biskit’: unfired pottery.
