The $1 Billion dollar development of Burwood Hospital was put into play in 2013. Completing ahead of time, the new 230 bed hospital opened it’s doors in August 2016. Boasting over 32,000 m2, with upgrades and additional services in mental health and aged care, and brain injury treatment together with additional facilities for patients and visitors alike, this new development is looking grand. Selection of appropriate health and safety flooring for this project was paramount, and The Flooring Centre in Christchurch have worked together with building contractors, Leighs Construction, contracted by the Canterbury Health Board to successfully select and install Polyflor’s range of Pearlazzo, Classic Mystique, Polysafe and Forest fx to gain the overall look they needed. Cleverly coving edges along hallways and in restroom areas, the robust Polyflor range leads to easy maintenance and daily cleaning.

All Polyflor continuous vinyl and vinyl tiles meet the New Zealand Building Code and Fire Regulations and installers favour this product for its easy laying appeal and professional finish. Perfectly suited to any health care environment due to infection control and sanitary regulations, Pearlazzo’s Group T vinyl (highest grade) is the first option for many Christchurch health associated applications. The Flooring Centre opted for the Classic Mystique and Forsest fx range to compliment the chosen Pearlazzo colours.
