Cooks Beach House

Website

This design is derived from a retreat / resort style holiday home in that there is a main pavilion house, a reading / writing pod and a a sunken fire-pit all of which are linked on the site by a landscape boardwalk. The simplicity of the design demanded a high level of detailing and a theme of black and white was adhered to.

The black pavilion and its ancillary pods sit beautifully against the dark green of the natural surrounding landscape. The house was positioned on the site with careful attention paid to orientation to enable view shafts through the house to Flaxmill Bay.
