The recent makeover of the Merivale FreshChoice Supermarket boasts 1460m² of Expona Commercial Cool Grey Concrete 5068 throughout the main supermarket floor combined with 250m² of Expona Commercial Honey Ash 4022 and Expona Commercial Roasted Oak 4079 in the climate controlled Wine Cellar.

Part of the complete makeover included extensive substrate preparation following historical slab issues, isolated high moisture readings and changes in layout over the years all compounded by earthquake damage. Working alongside Christchurch based retailer, Flooring Specialists and contractor Canterbury Floormakers, Polyflor NZ wrote a Total System Warranty to ensure all issues such as moisture were controlled and the substrate finished to a high standard to receive the Expona Commercial Tiles and Planks.

Using the Kiesel Total System Warranty system as specified, including a full Okapox GF epoxy moisture barrier, Kiesel Ki1 Floor levelling compound, Okamul PU polyurethane and Star 100 Plus adhesives, the Canterbury Floormakers have achieved a fantastic result to a very high standard of workmanship.
