Lincoln Street

Website

The desire for this client was to craft their outdoor space in a way that would allow for informal outdoor living by removing existing concrete paving, excavating their sloping lawn and reducing the lawn area to create space for a new hardwood deck.

A dual-purpose timber retaining wall was constructed to soften the sloping aspect of the lawn by raising the lawn up to the new height. The retaining wall also supported the construction of a new vitex hardwood deck by PBS Ltd.

Low timber planters were constructed to create a formal border around the new lawn, wrapping around the entire perimeter and stopping at the new deck steps.

Planters were filled with standardised Ficus hedging then underplanted with Gardenia to soften the boundary fences and provide colour and fragrance.

Ficus hedging was also planted at the front of the property to provide privacy to the bedrooms facing the street frontage. The remainder of the front garden was underplanted in Star Jasmine to provide low maintenance ground cover.
