With a somewhat contradicting brief to create a modern kitchen with character, Wayne Church from Neo Design has created a kitchen space with just that, through his carefully selected materials and design layout.
The dark stained oak veneer panels in Toitū American White Oak from Prime Veneer have been grooved to add modern character to an otherwise minimalist space. The tongue and groove cabinetry is broken up, yet complemented by the floor to ceiling white vertical cabinetry at the end of the island bench. Despite breaking up the space, it remains consistent with the clean lines featured through the kitchen.
The marble benchtop and splashback add an element of textural interest and richness. The white benchtop used against the marble splashback along the back cabinetry ties in with the surrounding lounge and dining areas, keeping flow and harmony in this modern, yet character-rich kitchen.
