The newly refurbished airport in New Plymouth has doubled the size of the previous building and now has the capacity to meet changing commercial trends. The terminal has a more open aspect with glazed walls and fewer internal obstructions.

Featured extensively throughout the concourse is the exclusive R10 rated VENEZIA range in Bianco, Grigio, and Nero in 600x600mm. Terrazzo-look has been trending across Europe and the rest of the world for some time now and lends itself perfectly to this expansive public space.

A special formulation of Terrazzo red was also commissioned for installation of the red 'whale carving design', as seen in the images above.

Almost half a million passengers have passed through New Plymouth in 2020. The new terminal building was blessed by Te Atiawa on 13 March with a beautiful ceremony at sunrise. Puketapu as mana whenua hosted the blessing of close to 400 people. The terminal project consists of a new road leading past the new terminal as well as a new car park layout. The new terminal can cater for up to 650,000 people.

The modular design of the new building allows for expansion as passenger numbers increase year to year.
