The new Ngati Otara Multi-sport Facility will replace the existing sports clubrooms, home to the Scorpions League Club.

The facility will include a new clubroom, kitchen, changerooms, toilets and laundry facilities.

The external walls are decorative Monarch concrete precast panels, and perforated laser cut panels highlight the building depicting a silhouette of a waka being paddled.

The new facility, due for completion early 2021, is a building that will increase interest in sports and bring the community together.

EllisCo installed electric actuators to provide natural ventilation in the main area of the new community sports facility. Tandem synchronised actuators were used on these wide sashes. To ensure correct operation special channels were made to hide cables running between actuators.
