Being given a blank canvas is that the format and décor can reflect and enhance not just the exterior design, but the requirements of the family. In this case a purpose built dance studio has been incorporated for the daughters: while for the parents there are beautifully planned entertainment areas. There is a reading nook for quiet time, and indoor/outdoor space is maximised by the flow onto decking from both bedrooms and the open plan living zones. Meanwhile the kitchen boasts pocket door fea-tures for ease of living and an integrated fridge which disappears within the dark stained oak full height joinery. Aesthetically there are matt finishes and natural textures – oak tim-ber flooring, pure wool carpet, linen, Tundra tiles, granite benchtops and oak custom cabi-netry; and with them comes a sense of calm which breathes through the home. And then there are the style pops. A sculptural fireplace in the living room, stunning glass pendants throughout, and clever colour notes are juxtaposed against the neutral palette. Altogether the look and feel is one of connection with both the environment and the family

At Monmouth Glass we handcraft exquisite glass objects that people need and use every day.

Monmouth is a traditional glassblowing studio, established in 2012 by glass artists Stephen Bradbourne and Isaac Katzoff. Our furnace holds 120 kilos of glass, and it is kept molten at a temperature of 1100 degrees Celsius twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.

Every piece is gathered from the furnace then hand shaped and blown using traditional glassblowing techniques that date back hundreds of years..
