Orewa Family Beach House

This beautiful Orewa beachfront home was designed by Trevor Wilson of ARCreate and built by Harbour City Builders.
Using Accoya, the profile is a custom rusticated board (P835) with a bandsawn face and paint finished in Resene ‘Ironsand’ ( a very dark matt colour). The Accoya weatherboards have gone through many NZ summers, with “zero movement” as reported by the (very happy) homeowners. In fact, they have reported movement and cracking issues with the concrete walls (painted the same colour) but none with the Accoya, which has performed “exceptionally well”.
The bandsawn face shows off the attractive natural woodgrain effect of the Accoya and gives a warmth and texture to the walls contrasting well with the other more industrial wall and façade elements.
