Nestled amidst the rugged beauty of Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, Pippins is a remarkable architectural gem that seamlessly blends urban sophistication with the serene charm of coastal living. The residence, designed by Webster Architecture & Interiors, is a testament to the harmonious interplay between human-crafted structures and the natural environment.

The home's striking design is characterised by a series of elongated, low-lying forms that gracefully conform to the undulating contours of the hillside. This organic approach ensures that Pippins not only fits seamlessly into its surroundings but also enhances the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

The architects have carefully considered the interplay between light and shadow, creating a sense of depth and drama within the interior spaces. Large windows and sliding doors invite abundant natural light, while strategically placed overhangs provide shade and protection from the elements. This thoughtful design ensures that residents can enjoy the beauty of the outdoors while maintaining a comfortable indoor environment.

Pippins is more than just a house; it is a sanctuary that celebrates the richness and diversity of the Australian landscape. The home's geometric form provides a sense of order and structure, while its connection to the natural world evokes a feeling of tranquility and peace. The result is a truly exceptional residence that offers a unique and unforgettable living experience.

The design of this project was guided by two core principles: a thoughtful response to the environment and a pursuit of elegant simplicity
The Local Project

A coastal retreat in a geometric form perched upon the wind swept landscape of undulating topography.

Given the environment and location, the exterior of the house needed to be a robust material that can withstand the wind, salt and horizontal rain. Webster Architecture specified the Emperor Brick in a ghost colour that is handmade by Krause Bricks in Western Victoria.
