When is Engineered timber as good as a solid wood floor?

Well, it’s all about the wear layer...

Our European engineered Oak flooring has a thicker than normal 6mm wear layer on a 14mm plywood base that once installed can be completely sanded and refinished new again 4-5 times. The average lifespan therefore being approximately 60-80 years. This is a premium product that has been tried and tested in New Zealand and is suitable for every type of installation from private Residential homes, large apartments developments, tiny houses to large commercial developments.

Do I still have Freedom of choice when it comes to colour and finish?

In short - yes. The reason we supply an unfinished engineered Oak is because we believe that you should still have freedom to choose your own style of colour and finish if you wish to with engineered floor boards. These boards are able to be coated off site and installed as a ‘pre finished’ product, or installed in the same way as solid timber- sanded and finished on site. The choice is all yours!
