The Post Oak Hotel at Uptown Houston, TX, is the city’s first elite destination for elegant accommodations masterfully blended with extensive conference facilities, prominent office space, designer fashion, signature dining and sophisticated amenities all in one tower.

Having opened the facility in March 2018, the 65,000m2 (700,000ft2) tower embraces every desire of savvy business and leisure travelers alike. Add commanding views of downtown Houston, the unmatched culinary excellence of Mastro’s, the two-story Rolls Royce showroom and direct helicopter pad access, The Post Oak Hotel is sure to satisfy even the most discerning taste.

Special attention to detail, saw the architecture team at Gensler, design a custom grand staircase, spiraling up from the ground to the second floor, to grace the Rolls Royce showroom, which is located in the hotel’s lobby and conference area.

Glasshape® was honored to become involved in the project, initially laser scanning the staircase once in place on site and further providing 3D CAD Design services. The scan data was then used to fabricate the stainless steel cladding and the Bent Glass railing.

The Bent Glass used was 12mm (1/2″) Tempered Starfire with highly polished edges, and attached to the structure with stainless steel stand-offs. With Glass on both sides of the staircase, this allowed the 3-level storefront windows to encase the showroom with light and space.
