When the developers of a small block of ten luxury apartments in Rose Bay pushed ‘go’ on the design and build they immediately nominated Poggenpohl as their brand of kitchens and laundries.

They had used German-made Poggenpohl on two larger apartment builds previously and recognised the value of the product in their marketing, the quality of the supplied kitchens and the efficiency of the local representative company, Akzente Limited. Having Poggenpohl’s Design Manager, Lara Farmilo work with Paul Brown’s Chloe Lovell-Shannon right from the outset of the design process ensured a perfect integration of the kitchen, scullery and laundry designs into the architectural plans.

Cabinetry and benchtop finishes were selected and built into the marketing material and specifications.

The six apartments were supplied in a combination of dark-oak timber décor and white matt fronts, whilst in the four penthouses, timber veneer was used.

The benchtops are Dekton Sirius – black with a subtle wavy texture – and the islands have ‘waterfalls’ to the floor.  The black Blanco sinks and Hans Grohe taps complement the black benchtops.  Splashbacks are also Sirius.

In the apartments, Miele appliances are used and in the luxurious penthouses Gaggenau was a natural choice.

All refrigeration is Liebherr and it is fully-integrated, as are the dishwashers and rangehoods, to give a very furniture-like image of the kitchens in the open-plan architecture.

The Poggenpohl cabinetry on the back, cooking, wall has been extended in height to the 2.7-metere-high ceilings.  This completes the fully-fitted and integrated look.

LED lighting and timber flooring completes thing for these impressive apartments.

Improving the kitchen since 1892

Founded in 1892 in the heart of Germany, Poggenpohl is the oldest and best-known kitchen brand in the world. From that day to this, we have followed the vision of our founder, Friedemir Poggenpohl, who set out to ‘improve the kitchen’.

For more than 120 years, Poggenpohl has continued to ‘improve the kitchen’, transforming it from a humble backroom into a living space that’s at the heart of the home. Our pioneering history includes many firsts, including white lacquer kitchen furniture, ergonomic work-top heights, and the development of the kitchen island.

Technical expertise, materials of the highest quality, meticulous craftsmanship and trend-setting design go into every Poggenpohl kitchen. At our factory in Herford, Germany we pay the utmost attention to detail and aim for perfection in everything we make. That is the Poggenpohl way.

A global network
Poggenpohl kitchens are sent from our factory in Herford, Germany to more than 70 countries around the world. We work with over 450 Poggenpohl studios, whose skilled designers share our values and are able to translate their customers’ visions of an ideal kitchen into reality.
