Shortland Health has taken a resounding step into the NZ medical scene. In a move ultimately nominated for a 2018 Interior Award, Shortland Health didn’t shy away from rocking the boat. The fit out has nailed its brief as an inviting homely but ‘concierge’ style experience where long term doc to patient relationships are the goal. All in the name of better healthcare outcomes.

The fit out is as “light bulb moment” (sorry) as its business philosophy with vintage brass laden surfaces and neon hand script signs a feature upon entry; an immediate departure from your standard health care digs. Enter the vast use of natural oil timbers and greenery – and we found ourselves with a clear direction for the lighting. Warmth was a key focus – inviting, comfortable, void of tension.

We like an out of the box approach here at Novii, and the design team took this and ran the ideal distance to complement the overall vibe. Of note are the consecutive custom ‘x’ shape Tyke fittings lighting the length of the higher stud hallway.

We thrive in spaces designed to make us feel good. Spaces where technology uses light, sound and air to create a holistic sense of wellness. Human spaces, designed for people first.

At Novii, we’re lighting and so much more. We’re exploring progressive technologies that can elevate human experiences. We bravely push the limits of built environments, seeking new ways to activate a more human approach to space.
