By CS Cavity Sliders
Sylvia Park launched its Level 1 expansion in mid-October 2020. The staged launch by Kiwi Property includes 50 exciting new international and local store openings. The extension, called the Galleria, re-establishes Sylvia Park as New Zealand’s largest mall, with 250 stores.
CS supplied multiple automated cavity sliders for the extension, working closely with Buchan architects and Naylor Love to ensure technical accuracy and the aesthetic look they wanted. This required multiple site meetings, site measures and drawing reviews until every last detail was clearly defined.
The CS AutoCav WC has been used in the toilet and family room facilities upstairs and downstairs, utilising automation to provide customers with a better, more hygienic toilet access door. The control panel clearly indicates when the bathroom is occupied or vacant. The AutoCav includes built-in safety beam sensors to provide obstacle detection through the opening.
The units were supplied with AluSealed detail - a pre-finished aluminium jamb that is extremely strong. It is suitable for commercial applications or where an over-height door solution is required. The aluminium jambs can be pre-finished in a range of colours, either anodised or powder coated.
Most of the AutoCavs in Sylvia Park are supplied with Frameless Glass doors. The frameless glass panel creates light space and the frosted glass ensures privacy. Other units utilise the NewYorker door, which is also glass, but with an aluminium frame that can be supplied anodised or powder coated.
