By HB Architecture
Completed by Grant whilst at Ignite Architects, this dwelling references the original home through the contemporary use of exterior material and detail, while the interior reflects a modern city apartment. This was created from clean lines, open spaces, and polished concrete and timber floors.
The house consists of three distinct zones. The first is the main ground level, which includes the entry, dining, living and kitchen. This area opens onto the north-facing garden. The second is a private guest area below, including a bedroom with en suite and a lounge which opens onto a sunken garden to the south. The third zone is the upper floor holding the main bedroom (that faces north) and an additional bedroom that looks over Franklin Road Valley, both with adjoining en-suites.
As Director and Principal Architect of HB Architecture, Grant Harris has infused the business with his singular passion for architectural design. Grant’s extensive formal training and qualifications are outmatched only by his practical
experience; over 40 years of his life have been dedicated to the expression of art through architectural form, resulting in countless completed projects.
