Due for completion in 2019, Summerset’s $100 million heritage park development in Ellerslie will provide an attractive facility that caters to a wide range of aged care needs.
Occupying around 3.8 hectares, the Heritage Park site is a significant addition to Summerset’s existing portfolio of aged care developments.
In order to appeal to a range of needs within the broader ‘aged care’ market, Summerset’s 19th village will offer a mix of independent living villas, along with apartments and an 80-bed care centre.
DESIGN
Stage one of Heritage Park will include a four-level main building, with communal and care facilities. Stage two of the development will see 125 independent-living apartments and 80 independent-living villas added to the village.
Creating an appealing environment that makes best use of the available city fringe site was critical to the brief. The on-site village centre will offer a wide range of facilities – from cafés and lounges to workshops, BBQ facilities and communal vegetable gardens.
Residential areas within the village have been designed to catch the sun, and an existing pond on the site has been integrated into the design.
