Custom aluminium planters grace the entrance of the super premium Victoria Lane apartments in Remuera. Taking a page out of aircraft design, the "bullet" top features ribs and stringers one finds in the construction of a jet airliners skeleton. The flawless transition from the base planter, into the support section, exemplifies the detail of design and fabrication that went in to the planter boxes.
When the developer of Remuera's ultra premium Victoria Lane apartments came to us with his vision for the grand entrance of his latest project, focusing on the elements that would make the space truly special, we were as thrilled as we were determined to ensure the outcome exceeded the expectations of the client. The brief not only included custom sized "four corners and a base" planter boxes, but specifically called for the developers own design of six iconic statement planters.
Fabrication was completed off-site at our facility, with the skeleton sections delivered separately from the bases, and then assembled on site.
With just a hint of subtle drama, the "bullet planters" met the brief perfectly. The story was complete.
Landscape features, even those of the scale and composition of the six that were to grace the entrance, need to be distinct enough to add to the story of high design and elegance, but subtle enough so as not to distract from the architecture and design of the building itself. A statement piece should be just that... it should deliver a wow factor, but in a way that is less than overbearing, is at peace, and in harmony, with it's surroundings.
