Fresh faces for CMT Group

We’d like to extend a warm welcome to the following new employees who’ve recently joined our ranks.

Sonia’s the first point of contact when you come to CMT Group reception in Blenheim.  She loves customer service, is ready to assist with your enquiry, and will always greet you with a smile. With 30 years of experience in customer service and reception, Sonia really knows a thing or two about office Administration.

Since Sonia’s been with us, the office is already a greener place. She brought with her a new variety of potted plants which she’s scattered throughout the building. Along with being a green thumb, in her free time, Sonia loves to get outdoors, go fishing, watch car racing, go to the gym, run, and cycle.

Sonia is married to Rob and has two adult children.  She’s also well-travelled, spending 5 years overseas traveling and working in places such as Europe, America, and Australia.

Fresh out of University, Zara’s come on board as our new Marketing Assistant. She’s recently completed her Bachelor’s degree and is very keen and excited to put what she studied into practice. She came to CMT Group because of its opportunities and the supportive culture that allows personal and team growth.

This is Zara’s first marketing-centered role with previous experience in hospitality, customer service, and events. Born and raised in Blenheim, Zara’s excited to be back home and loves working for a locally owned and operated company.

In her spare time, Zara can be found running Connect Youth Blenheim, getting out socialising, trying a plethora of new creative hobbies, or spoiling her tabby cat named ‘Mouse.’ Zara has a passion for events, youth, and creativity and enjoys doing volunteer work in the community.

Elton comes to CMT Group as our new Quantity Surveyor with a strong skill set and a laundry list of experience. With a love for learning as a self-proclaimed “student of life,” Elton has experience in project management, material procurement, job pricing, price negotiations, contractor evaluations, and even business management.

When not working Elton can be found spending time with his family, getting stuck into outdoor adventures, or cheering on Real Madrid in their soccer matches. Having relocated from Auckland, Elton is loving the wide space, more casual pace, and shorter commute in Marlborough.

Elton has two young kids both under five who, along with his wife, will be following him to Blenheim shortly. As a total ‘people person’, Elton loves people from all walks of life and enjoys speaking to new people, and “learns from others every day.” He was drawn to CMT Group because of the people and the culture stating that he already feels like a part of the family and is well looked after.

Lisa started at CMT Group part-time as a Payroll Administrator. Recently she’s switched over to focus on Contracts Administration. Lisa has 20 years of experience in administration making her an invaluable asset for our admin team.

When not at work Lisa loves spending time with family. She loves her time being a Grandmother and will welcome her second grandchild in February. She also has a love for American muscle cars and motorbikes, her Harley Davidson can often be spotted at the office.

Lisa decided to come to CMT Group when she felt she needed a change of scenery. The flexibility, work-life balance, and the environment made her feel right at home. She said “you often hear people whistling or singing” which proved the positivity of the CMT environment for her.
