Glare-free screens, touch-to-open fridges, and connected appliances are making everyday living simpler and smarter.

Smart home technology has quietly transformed how we live, bringing not just convenience, but a new level of ease and integration to everyday tasks. Whether it's managing groceries, automated clothes washing and drying, or enjoying a screen with zero glare, the latest generation of appliances is designed to work smarter, not harder.

To hear about the latest smart home tech, we spoke to Samsung Electronics Anne Vacek who shares the five latest standout innovations that are helping homes feel more connected, more comfortable, and more effortless.

Samsung's Kitchen Fit models allow the fridge to sit flush with the cabinetry.

1. A fridge that fits seamlessly & touch-to-open fridge doors

For years, the biggest frustration with premium fridges has been their bulky design, disrupting the flow of sleek lines and minimalist styling. That’s changing, shares Anne.

“Our latest Samsung fridge features something called ‘kitchen fit’. Kitchen fit models are built to fit in seamlessly. The sleek and seamless design means it offers installation with a tiny gap of just 4mm from the sides and 20mm from the top*.”

The result? A cleaner and more versatile fridge that doesn’t compromise on storage or cooling performance. Samsung’s Kitchen Fit comes in a French Door style that offers the next best thing to a fully integrated fridge.

Another major leap forward is the introduction of auto-open doors. This feature is especially useful when your hands are full – say, after a big grocery run or when you're prepping dinner.

“Samsung’s Bespoke Side by Side Fridge/Freezer range features an Auto Open Door which means that with a light tap on the sensor, the door opens automatically, giving you quick and easy access without juggling bags or ingredients.”

It’s a small touch that makes a surprisingly big difference in day-to-day life.

2. Glare-free OLED and Frame Pro TVs

Bright, light-filled living rooms are great for everything – except watching TV. Glare from windows has long been the enemy of a crisp, clear screen. But the latest Samsung OLED and Frame Pro TVs come equipped with anti-glare technology that eliminates reflections, even in the brightest rooms.

“Whether you’re watching a movie in the middle of the day or enjoying ambient art mode, the screen remains sharp and distraction-free,” says Anne.

Samsung’s famous gallery-style Frame TVs have also seen further innovation, now available in 65” and larger sizes with enhanced Neo QLED (Mini LED) picture quality for richer contrast in both art and TV modes. A new Wireless One Connect box reduces cable clutter with up to 10 metres of omni-directional range, while the Slim Fit wall mount, Art Store and Art Stream help the TV blend effortlessly into your space.**

3. Smarter cooking, faster results

In the kitchen, the latest built-in oven tech is doing more with less. Samsung’s 76L Bespoke AI oven uses Dual Cook technology to split the cavity into two independently controlled zones, so you can roast and bake at different temperatures simultaneously.

“The AI model also includes a steam tray for healthier, more precise results, plus a built-in camera that recognises food, prevents overcooking, and lets you monitor progress from your phone – no door-opening required,” shares Anne.

4. All‑in‑one laundry made seamless

Samsung’s Bespoke AI washer‑dryer combo brings true convenience and efficiency to the laundry room. With an 18 kg washing capacity and 10 kg drying capacity built into a single appliance, there's no need to transfer loads between machines, saving space and streamlining chores.

"We’re seeing a real shift toward appliances that not only do more but do it smarter," says Anne. "This combo unit is designed to simplify routines and uses significantly less energy.”

A 3 kg wash-and-dry cycle takes just 98 minutes thanks to AI‑driven sensors and automatic detergent dosing for precision cleaning***. The intuitive 7″ AI Home display puts full control at your fingertips, offering cycle insights and ease of use in one sleek interface.

5. One app to control it all

At the heart of this ecosystem is a smart platform that connects every device. Using SmartThings****, homeowners can monitor and control their appliances from anywhere.

“It’s not just about automation, but about giving you greater flexibility and peace of mind, whether you're at home or away,” says Anne. "It connects not only Samsung devices but hundreds of others too, giving users far more than basic monitoring.”

With features like AI Energy Mode*****, users can see exactly how much energy they're using and activate power-saving settings with a single tap. The more products you connect, the smarter and more personalised your home becomes.
