In March 2025, Hay St Market at Paddy’s Market reopened after a $20 million transformation, emerging as one of Sydney’s most vibrant destinations. The renovation has revitalised the iconic space into a modern hub of culture, food, and community—while preserving its rich history.
At Outdoor Blinds and Awnings Australia, we were proud to contribute to this landmark project by designing and installing a range of custom commercial awnings and shading systems. Working closely with the developers and design team, our solutions delivered both durability and visual impact—helping create a market environment that is welcoming, weatherproof, and built to last.
Our Contribution: Bespoke Outdoor Shading Systems
To meet the market’s unique design and performance requirements, we supplied and installed:
- 16 Fixed Pivot Arm Awnings
- 4 Custom Canopy Awnings – designed for style and branding
- 18 Straight Drop Fixed Panels (Outdoor Blinds)
- 18 Fixed Fabric Frame Covers – adding cohesion and visual interest across stalls.

To complement the fabric choices, we incorporated a mix of valances—including 150mm scallop valances with frills and fixed straight valances—as well as powder coating finishes in Raw Steel and Satin Black for a modern industrial edge.
We also provided custom sign printing, helping vendors stand out while staying true to the overall design narrative of the market.
