As part of the Waikato Museum project, UNEX custom Topline balustrades were designed to provide both safety and architectural impact in this high-traffic public space. These site-specific balustrades ensure durability and compliance while enhancing the overall design.
A custom Topline balustrade featuring heavy-duty vertical fins in a CTH2 profile (60 x 16mm), paired with an interlinking VRR handrail set to the side for added safety and accessibility.
The main stand at the National Hockey Centre has capacity for 450 spectators so the UNEX X3000 series was specified as it has the highest load rating of any aluminium balustrade—capable of withstanding greater than 3kN of sustained force, or the same as if all 450 spectators were to hit the balustrade at the same time.
UNEX Architectural Barriers installed 170 lineal metres of X3000 framed glass balustrading at the National Hockey Centre.
