At its 18th season growing strong as Australia’s longest running and fan favourite house renovation series, The Block 2022 has never been more entertaining with this year’s theme of ‘tree change’, moving the show from its usual landscape of suburban streets to regions of heritage country homes for our current contestants. As the show has come to a close this year, we can look back at the amazing kitchen reveals by contestants and Freedom Kitchens, each having their own unique flair and design.
Beginning with couple Tom and Sarah-Jane, this couple have continued in creating their dream home with a beautiful brightly toned Freedom Kitchen, complimented by wooden floorboards & drawers below the stable marble bench top inventing a ‘homey’ yet contemporary feel. Additionally, the brass tones of the pants, rose gold-like oven handles and golden kitchen mixer tap amazingly pair together to pop out a unique sense of colour amongst the room.
Rachel and Ryan’s confident flair throughout their time on the show can be evidently seen in this consistently white Freedom Kitchen with timber not only visible amongst the tabletop, but also the shelves and the ceiling beam above. The integration of a wine refrigerator embraces a regional and relaxing ambience, while the inclusion of handle and handleless cabinets expresses the old and the new.
Opting for something ambitious is Ankur and Sharon’s bold light and dark aesthetic Freedom Kitchen design, with an obsidian-like marble benchtop in the middle which is impossible to miss as it stretches along the room, allowing plenty of space for family, visitors and guests. Hettich’s ArciTech drawers lined the oversized island benchtop creating a unique combination of black and brass colours on handles, which adds a rich toned touch.
Experienced tradie couple Dylan and Jenny have embraced the countryside with their interpretation of a classical vintage Freedom Kitchen, featuring gorgeous dark sage greens across the room’s furniture. Cleverly paired with such colours are golden handles, taps and even lighting amongst the backdrop of the splashback, undeniably perfect. Hettich’s ArciTech drawer system sits within the lower cabinets, with multiple drawers fitting inside the cabinet and are easily accessible upon being opened.
Dark and grey tones have never looked so sleek until Omar and Oz’s latest kitchen design. From the wine glass display conveniently placed right next to the wine refrigerator, to the 2 featured obsidian black taps, this kitchen seemingly provides everything and beyond especially with the inclusion of the stone-like benchtop establishing a statement of unapologetic modernity.
